A few thoughts....

A) Schutzhund/IPO has 4 phases in reality - the 4th is driving.  As much as I strive to train at various locations as close as possible to my home, the reality is that city life is not conducive to schutzhund training.  Thus I have a air miles card and appreciate the points that I gain when I fill up my gas tank.  My little Mazda3 'k9 edition" that is only 4 years old, has more clicks on it then my hubby's almost 10 year old wagon.   And more dog hair, and more mess/dirt, and more nose smudges on the glass etc

B) It has been said about schutzhund training -
     - Tracking is the tenacity of the handler
     - Obedience is the skill of the handler
     - Protection is the genetics of the dog

...... I keep reminding myself to be tenacious as we track in these hot, drought like, dry conditions with a young pup who rather be hanging out in the great indoors (can't say I disagree with her though!)  Hoping for a breakthrough soon with her - then at least we can relax a bit until we get some rain.
