Wise Dog Training Advice From Dean Calderon

Spending some time with a friend this morning tracking our dogs reminded me of how much I loved this quote -

"Open your heart and your eyes to your dog and he will tell you how to train him.  There are many paths to the top of the mountain."  Dean Calderon

Life has been incredibly busy these past several weeks.  Finding time and energy to train and work the dogs in schutzhund has been next to impossible.  Due to the energy (both mental and physical) that work requires on a daily basis, unfortunately the dogs were forced to hang tight and satisfy themselves mentally on hikes, chasing wildlife, swimming in streams, playing at the park, play dates with other dogs and other doggie things, but just not schutzhund.

Anyways of this friend, I am so grateful for her motivating words, encouragement and keen insights observations about my dogs.  She is able to read them so well and I appreciate her advice immensely.

And an older photo of my boy Diets who owned his track this morning!  Also perfect article indication!  Recently just had 4 weeks off and quite "challenging" conditions this morning (35 degree heat and humidity, dry grass, moderate wind, 1 hour aged, minimal food).  Thought I would see what he would bring to training this morning & I was not disappointed.  (albeit track was on short side because I was too hot to lay a long one!)
