I am so very proud of my leggy, finicky dobergal as we passed our Bh and traffic test this past weekend at a trial held at the Southern Ontario Working Group judged by Lisa Little.
The judge was very nice and gave us some compliments as well as some good advice for future trials.
Nora received the highest score for her on leash heeling. Her off leash heeling wasn't bad, however she did forge at times and that needs to be corrected. I was so impressed by her focus throughout the routine. I was worried that without the reward and having to do the full routine twice through, I could have a bored and uninterested dobe partway through and subsequently lose her. However for the final recall at the end of the routine, she was soo energetic and fast, I started to worry about being bowled over as she raced towards me. She managed to stop in time, however the sit was crooked. Needless to say, I will take that at this point and work on it for the future. She finished the routine like a champ. Also held her long down extremely well despite the fact a dog before us had vomited during its long down and being somewhat of a princess, Nora doesn't cope well with such things.
As this was my first trial I will comment on the fact that for the past week I have been waxing and waning in periods of very stressed to relaxed. During the routine I felt a sense of relief as I was getting it over with and I was also somewhat relieved that my dog was there and we were a team.
I am excited to trial again and hope to continue working towards further titles in the dog sport world of schutzhund with both Nora and my pup Dieter.
Wooo-Who!! Way to go Nora & Kourtney!!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you both!
Wish I had been there but, alas, Nora wouldn't have done her job if she heard me cheering from the bleachers! lol
Looking forward to photos and many more successful trials!
